COVID-19 Infection Testing

What is Coronavirus?

Coronavirus (CoV) is a group of viruses that can cause diseases in both animals and humans. Certain strains can cause severe respiratory illnesses, such as:

  • MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome)
  • SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome)

And most recently, COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019), which is caused by a novel strain known as SARS-CoV-2

How is COVID-19 transmitted?

  • Through respiratory droplets from coughing, sneezing, or talking by an infected person
  • By touching contaminated surfaces or objects, then touching the face, mouth, nose, or eyes
  • Asymptomatic individuals can still spread the virus to others

Symptoms of COVID-19

Common symptoms: Fever >37.5°C, cough, fatigue

Other symptoms: Sore throat, loss of smell, loss of taste, nasal congestion, runny nose, diarrhea, skin rashes

Some individuals may remain asymptomatic despite being infected

Why should you get tested for COVID-19?

  • To confirm infection, especially in individuals with symptoms or known exposure risks
  • To prevent the spread of infection to family, workplace, or community
  • Test results may support clinical decisions or be used for travel/work clearance
  • Asymptomatic individuals can still transmit the virus

Our testing technology

  • PCR Hybridization on DNA Microarray Chip
  • More than 98% accuracy
  • Uses probes to directly detect HPV genetic sequences
  • Capable of detecting low viral loads in the sample
  • Accepts samples from Nasopharyngeal Swab and Throat Swab

Sample Collection Precautions

  • Do not eat, drink, or brush teeth for at least 30 minutes before sample collection
  • Avoid using mouth spray or mouthwash prior to collection
  • Samples must be submitted within the following timeframes:

           - Nasopharyngeal Swab & Throat Swab : within 5 days, store at ≤ 8°C if not sent immediately

Swab specimens must be collected in a VTM (Viral Transport Medium) tube to preserve viral integrity and ensure the accuracy of test results.

What You Will Receive

  • An official laboratory report
